Job Summary: - Eastern Washington University is currently seeking a Fiscal Specialist 1. This position is responsible to accurately process and maintain EWU Eagle Store accounts payables, accounts receivables, and cash control. Responsible for the management of third-party student accounts. Maintain organized records and provide reporting of data. Offer quality customer service, and support the front-end operations of the store.

Required Qualifications: - High school diploma or GED certificate
- 2 years of experience in fiscal record keeping, accounting, bookkeeping, or similar
- 2 years of customer service
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, paying attention to detail, and producing desired results
- Working knowledge of cash handling principles and practices
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word (Word, Excel, etc.) and Google Docs
- Effectively communicates through both oral and written channels
- Interpersonal skills to work within a diverse community
- Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility and/or diversity.

Responsibility / Duty: Accounts Payable - Coordinate accounts payable functions, including vendor maintenance, invoice preparation, reviewing invoice retail extensions, and correct departmental coding
- Work with Eagle Store buyers to coordinate timely and accurate payments to vendors
- Review vendor statements and maintain timely payments
- Serve as a resource to other employees regarding accounts payable and other related areas
- Verify accuracy of purchase orders, post invoices in MBS, and prepares invoices for payment
- Track credit balances
- Maintain organized filing system
- Reconcile freight bills, monitor freight costs, and post freight charges monthly
- Reconcile procurement card statements

Responsibility / Duty: Accounts Receivable - Work with third party vendors for authorizations and billing
- Prepare and send quarterly invoices to third party vendors
- Prepare, balance, and process Journal Vouchers and Juploads for payments on account
- Maintain account records

Responsibility / Duty: Cash Controls - Receive, record, and process checks (commissions, credit memos, pay-ins, etc.)
- Collect, verify, and deposit Eagle Store revenues
- Balance monies to sales register reports and prepare bank deposit
- Maintain revenue records
- Maintain security procedures required for safety of funds, manage change fund and cash drawers
- Record and monitor Eagle Store gift cards
- Prepare, compile, and provide fiscal reports for monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliation

Responsibility / Duty: Customer Service and store operations - Assist third party students with textbook and supply needs; order, track, and record purchases
- Order store-use supplies
- May be purchasing agent for 1-2 departments
- Provide customer service and assist in sales transactions at the POS terminal
- Assist cashiers with problems, questions, and customer needs
- Problem solve POS issues
- Open and close store when needed.
- Assists in the maintenance of inventory records and taking physical inventory
- Assist the Director as requested
- Perform related duties as assigned

- This position is covered by the Washington Federation of State Employees Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Salary Information: Range 40 - $39,732 - $51,600 - DOE
