KUOW Puget Sound Public Radio is Seattle’s NPR news station. KUOW is looking for a part-time 75% FTE Accounts Payable Clerk (Fiscal Specialist I). This person also plays an important role in the credit card documentation and cash receipts processes. If what we’re saying sounds like a great job, we want to talk to you.

Support KUOW’s finance department with smooth and timely processing of accounts payable, ensuring compliance with KUOW and UW internal controls. Batch checks and prepare bank deposits in support of Accounting Assistant.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounts Payable (A/P)
•Analyze, process, and audit payment requests, such as procurement, independent contractor relationships, and expense reimbursements. •Ensure that all expenditures are reviewed, documented, and approved in compliance with station policies and procedures. •Maintain paper records (or digital records, where appropriate) of A/P activity. •Allocate charges to proper accounts in our accounting software. •Ensure appropriate use tax liability is accrued. •Process journal vouchers to transfer contracted funds to other departments. •Process and send checks or coordinate with staff to complete payments by other methods. •Enter payments processed through the university’s financial system. •Maintain fiscal record-keeping system.
ProCard and Other Centralized UW Payments
•On a monthly basis, as a ProCard Reviewer, process ProCard transactions: oDownload ProCard transactions for all KUOW cardholders. oSort transactions by cardholder. Prepare and send reports to cardholders, working with ProCard Administrator as needed to collect the completed reports. oEnter coding for each transaction into UW/bank interface. •Review the university’s financial system monthly for charges from the UW, such as payments for rent and telecommunications. •Process other university payments as needed.
•Receive all check and cash revenue daily and prepare records for each day’s batch. •Prepare bank deposits daily. •Prepare and send invoices for produced stories, studio use, and other services.
Financial System Entries
•Calculate depreciation monthly and enter into general ledger •Upload forecast information into general ledger •Upload ProCard transactions to general ledger
Perform related duties as assigned.
May be asked to work additional hours, up to 40 hours per week, during vacation coverage or occasional special events.
Position reports to the Assistant Director of Finance.
Three years of fiscal recordkeeping experience, or equivalent education/experience.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Good customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and prioritize own work.
