The HMC Gift Shop has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time day shift RETAIL CLERK LEAD. Under general direction, the individual in this role will lead retail staff in the ordering, receiving, sales, inventory, cash control and customer service functions for the HMC Gift Shop.
GENERAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Serve as an assistant to Gift Shop Manager;
•Regularly assign, instruct and check the work of retail clerks, temporary staff and/or others;
•Oversee the ordering of Gift Shop selling supplies such as paper bags, various forms, register tape, printer paper and office supplies;
•Coordinate returns to suppliers and correct invoice discrepancies with minimal supervision;
•Direct receiving, checking, pricing and stocking of retail goods and supplies;
•Coordinate displays, store arrangements with seasonal changes, special sales and new merchandise;
•Work with selected vendors, manufacturers and wholesalers and plan inventory levels to meet anticipated needs; review catalogues for new goods; develop order requirements;
•Enter new or re-orders into the point of sale system;
•Process and log invoices and inventory transfers;
•Perform the duties of a Retail Clerk II;
•May make bank deposits;
•Perform related duties as required or assigned by Gift Shop Manager.

High school diploma or GED certificate AND one year of experience in retail selling, cash register operation, general clerical work and/or financial record keeping.
Six months of additional qualifying experience may be substituted for education.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
