The Fiscal Specialist 2 is part of the Procurement Customer Service team which provides fiscal support to customers of UW procurement and financial systems. Reporting to the manager of Procurement Customer Service, this position is responsible for responding to Tier Two requests regarding established procedures in recording, summarizing and reporting fiscal activity. This position serves as an expert in the entire procure to pay process. The position is also responsible for promoting electronic payment options and enrolling suppliers. The position provides training and outreach for users of UW procurement and financial systems, and maintains the Procurement Services internet and department intranet websites. The position backs up other staff who maintain the supplier database.Duties and Responsibilities:Provide customer support services for procurement and financial systems and reporting services.Independently advise and inform departmental customers and suppliers regarding policies, procedures and activities ensuring compliance with University, state and federal policies, rules and regulations. Analyze and resolve procurement discrepancies for reconciliation of statements and University accounts.Consult and advise staff and faculty regarding Procure-to-Pay options, policies, procedures, and activities to ensure compliance with University, state, and federal requirements. Provide prompt and effective response (Tier Two support) to all customer inquiries to resolve issues relating to procurement processes and systems. Conduct independent research, collaborate with others in the team and process partners as needed to initiate corrective action and resolve issues to the customer's satisfaction.Communicate effectively with both internal and external customers via direct contact by telephone and standard forms of written communication such as email, letters and memoranda using a variety of communication skills as appropriate including conflict resolution, active listening skills, etc. Write clear, courteous responses to customer written inquiries.
