Reporting to the Assistant Registrar for Registration and Transcripts, works closely with the Registration and Transcript Office.We have an outstanding opportunity for a Program Assistant.Duties & Responsibilities: *Assist customers on the phone regarding all aspects of the UW Registration and Transcript policies and procedures *Assist students in person with complete withdrawals, returning student applications, change of major forms registration transaction forms, change of name forms, late add petitions, UW staff and state employee Tuition Exemption requests and admission, Access registration, Summer Quarter admissions forms, transcript requests, certificates of enrollment and other requests as required *Handle incoming mailed, emailed, and faxed requests for all of the above listed processes *Understand the MyUW web based registration and MyPlan tool and be able to help students set up access to the system, enter the system, and navigate the system. *Be able to direct customers to appropriate offices, as needed, either on the phone, in person, or by email. *Other duties as assigned. Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities (No percentage of time spent for each duty is given due to the fluctuating workload based on the quarterly academic schedule): *When assigned, respond to an average of 25 telephone inquiries per hour regarding Registration and Transcript inquiries *Spend at least 2 hours per day handling in person Registration and Transcript customers *When assigned, respond to Registration and Transcript REGOFF RT ticket emails *Process returning student applications, non-matriculated employee admission applications, and summer quarter only admission applications *Process emailed, mailed, and faxed transcript orders, handle problem transcript orders, and handle returned transcript orders *Process and be responsible for handling registration and verification requests received via email, mail, and fax *Access and handle pending e-transcripts using our client's web service *Process ACCESS registrations *Access the NSCH database to update enrollment status and process verifications and uploaded reports and access the NSLDS database for the same functions *Accept cash and checks for ECD and NSEOF payments received at the Registration Window *Create a cashiers batch, logging into a spreadsheet, adding charges and credits to the SDB, processing and balancing at the end of day, filling out the deposit slip, endorsing checks, and sealing in bank bag for nightly deposit. *General filing duties as assigned *Other duties as assigned Requirements include:High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of full-time clerical experience OR equivalent education/experience.
