As a member of the DS Baker Advisors team, the primary role of the family advisor is to identify, plan, coordinate and often lead the team calling effort with clients and prospects, ensuring existing and new customers work with the right people and receive the services they need This is a relational position first, transactional position second. This role is also the most active in bringing new prospects to the team.

Should a multi-faceted financial relationship develop, DS Baker Advisors work together to meet the personal, business, investment, planning and legacy needs of the client.
Build and maintain excellent client relationships through a trust-building individualized approach that creates understanding and uncovers each client’s current and potential wealth management needs which could include issues of retirement, business succession, philanthropy, etc.
Prospect and handle client retention calls to cement the relationship build new revenue, obtain appropriate referrals and /or increase existing revenue.
As client needs are better understood and/or shift, the family advisor takes a lead role to facilitate introductions and organize the DS Baker Advisor team of experts to deliver financial solutions and lower the stress areas of wealth.
The Family Advisor Acts as a manager and steward for the client’s changing credit needs.
Develop and maintain close relationships with team members and other “centers of influence.”
Monitor qualification criteria and client data changes or shifts. Collaborate with team and then facilitate the appropriate service level for the client.
Seek out and develop relationships with other centers of influence in the business arena.
Maintain the required continuing education credits necessary and be proactive to continue to build advisor knowledge and skills by completing on-going training.
Participate in community activities and events for business development and to contribute the greater community.
Business development: Meet or exceed annual sales and retention goals as established by management.
Promote team calling activity, build trust amongst team members, and timely document all client activity and contact.
Initiate and schedule pre-planning and strategy meetings with the DS Baker advisors and their support staff to begin the process of identifying cross sale opportunities.
Proactively seek out information, resources, and expertise of internal and external subject matter experts, based on client needs.
Schedule, coordinate and facilitate annual team meeting(s) with clients.
Proactively assure all team members are fully informed of all client interactions by documenting all client interactions and data using the customer relationship management software and processes available.
Education and Experience:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field. CFP desired but can obtain once hired. Minimum five years’ experience in client-facing or sales role, where a primary responsibility was progressive client interaction or responsibility, preferably in a banking or finance environment. Or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge and abilities to do the job.

Counselor approach- You take a professional, consultative approach with your clients and teams. You first seek to listen, understand and then act, always putting the client or team before the individual or ego.
