This position will analyze, monitor, and report on credit and collateral risks, primarily in the Bank's member and housing associate exposures and mortgage portfolios. Develop and operate Risk Analytics modeling tools and applications. Other duties include monitoring and reporting on compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations, as well as assisting department staff in the production, updating, and testing of departmental models, reports, and computer applications.
Responsibilities: * Model and analyze financial assets to assess the eligibility, underlying credit quality, current valuation, projected losses, and potential volatility of pledged loan and security collateral. * Model and analyze expected and unexpected losses under multiple scenarios to assess credit risk exposure in the Bank's mortgage and investment portfolios, including determination and reporting of required loan loss reserves. * Determine data requirements and implement enhancements as needed to accurately and efficiently support risk models, reports, and End User Computing (EUC) tools. * Assist in the operation and oversight of credit risk and collateral models, including validation efforts, vendor relationships, and performance monitoring. * Perform regular production processes and prepare related risk management reports and communication materials. * Evaluate new business activities and initiatives to develop appropriate procedures to monitor and manage associated risk exposure. * Prepares regular reports on credit- and collateral-related risk management issues. * Serve as back-up for other Analysts in ongoing production of key models and reports. * Manage departmental internal controls and regulatory issues. * Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree with a major in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, or related field required - or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired; Advanced degree or certification including CFA or FRM preferred. * Four to six years of experience in banking, financial services, securities analysis, lending/underwriting, or similar industry experience. * Strong financial analysis skills, including credit modeling, statistical analysis, and valuation. * Ability to positively engage, self-motivate, and possess a strong desire to learn. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, relational databases, data management tools, and database query writing (e.g. SQL). * Strong written and verbal communication skills.
