Our Patient Nutrition department has an outstanding opportunity for a Cook. This individual will prepare food to the chef's exact specifications and to set up station for daily or weekend service. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and continuing department improvement.
Daily Duties to include: Setup and stock stations with all necessary supplies Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, or preparing sauces, following standardized recipes) Cook Menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff Answer, report and follow lead cook's instructions Clean up station and take care of left over food Stock inventory appropriately using FIFO Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, high quality and in a timely fashion Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
Possession of, or eligible for, a food handler's permit AND one year of experience as a Food Service Worker; or equivalent education/experience
Knowledge of different cooking techniques(roasting, braising, high temp roasting, steaming, sauteing) Ability to streamline tasks and find process improvements Accuracy and speed in following recipes
