JOB SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Food Service Supervisor.Ensure food is prepared, cooked, issued and stored safely. Assemble ingredient items in a manner so as to maximize food quality and minimize food waste.Prepare and monitor food items to assure safe temperature control and safe handling and storing techniques. Maintain sanitation in work area. Meet food production deadlines. Manage time to complete assigned tasks thoroughly and accurately. Promote positive customer service and assist co-workers and supervisors when needed.Take inventory of Food Bank items.QUALIFICATIONS:Possession of, or eligible for, a Food Handler's Permit and one year experience as a Food Service Worker, or equivalent education/experience.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma, or GED Certificate, with experience in an industrial, commercial or institutional food service or patient tray service.Good communication skills, both verbal and written.Ability to accurately follow standardized recipes and to maintain quality standards.Ability to do multi task cooking, using safe food preparation, service and storage practices.Knowledge of; practices, methods and procedures of large-scale food preparation and serving.Demonstrate team skills and the ability to promote positive customer relations.
