Craft3 is looking for a Consumer Portfolio Manager to own the responsibility for the business unit’s underwriting standards, credit risk management practices, loan documentation requirements, and compliance with all relevant regulatory consumer compliance standards. This position also plays an integral role developing new products. This work requires integration of inclusive lending approaches with appropriate credit risk management to achieve portfolio health and ongoing analysis of the active portfolio to forecast risk and adjust strategies accordingly. This position requires independent management of discrete projects and deliverables necessary to advance the goals of the department.
Craft3 is a regional nonprofit that makes loans in Oregon and Washington to strengthen the resilience of businesses, families and nonprofits, including those without access to traditional financing. Craft3’s consumer business unit develops and delivers consumer loans that meet identified community needs and are uniquely designed for a wide range of borrowers, including those with low-moderate incomes and challenged-credit histories.
•Develop consumer loan underwriting and credit risk management standards for loan products
•Provide guidance and escalation on complex credits; assist team in structuring individual loans requiring complex underwriting or risk scenarios.
Portfolio Risk Management
•Responsible for developing and implementing action plans to analyze, evaluate, measure, and communicate portfolio for trends, compliance with procedures, lessons learned, inherent and future risks.
•Actively assess and mitigate portfolio risk; create, implement, and measure strategies (e.g. program, policy, and capital, operational) to mitigate and offset risks.
Consumer Lending Compliance
•Responsible for consumer lending regulatory compliance by reviewing, evaluating and measuring regulatory compliance requirements against operations, company policy, and regulatory agencies.
•Ensure lending and servicing products, process, and procedures are compliant with consumer lending laws.
•Lead technical aspects of new product development including; underwriting standards, term sheets, loan documents, anticipating and mitigating risks.
•Ensure compliance with all applicable consumer lending regulations.
•Collaborate and build relationships with local and regional partners.
Minimum five years’ experience in consumer lending management, consumer portfolio management, consumer product management, and/or portfolio analysis. Minimum of four years processing/underwriting experience. Experience in program management, community development and/or customer service preferred. Strong communication, analytic, presentation, and organizational skills are required.
