The Nursing Supervisor assists with overseeing the operations of Island Hospital's 10-bed Emergency Department, a Level III Trauma and Level II Stroke unit, with patient volumes continually growing and projected to exceed 17,000 annually. This position will be responsible for assisting the Director with staffing, training, performance management, compliance and fiscal management of departmental assets, and implementing and evaluating quality improvement plans, including but not limited to, work process standards and performance goals to ensure optimal service delivery and patient care.
Candidates must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with Physicians, leadership, clinical staff and support staff to provide an optimal care experience for patients and their families. Candidates must be able to exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision-making, with the ability to provide direction and development and must be able to demonstrate an attitude consistent with the Island Hospital Promise.
Minimum two (2) years of clinical experience in the Emergency Dept.
Previous management and/or supervisory experience to include experience as a charge nurse.
BSN preferred or commitment to enroll in a BSN program within six (6) months of hire.
CEN certification is preferred and encouraged.
Must maintain RN license issued by the WA Department of Health.
Must maintain current BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC certifications. Must provide verification of TNCC completion.
