This position is responsible for gathering and analyzing large sets of health plan data and trends to proactively manage and reduce controllable claim costs, utilize data to measure work initiatives, and ensure proper administration of a self-insured plan and a fully insured Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement (MEWA) with minimum premium payment funding. In addition, the Sr. Analyst is responsible for monitoring and analyzing key data metrics from other health and welfare plans to provide holistic data intelligence on overall benefits programs.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
Lead benefits plan and program metrics and financials, including trends in claim experience, loss ratio, overall reserve levels, benefits utilization, program participation and return on investment.
Collaborate with broker to ensure competitiveness of plans and programs by researching employee benefits marketplace, benchmarking plan performance, forecasting benefits needs of participants and plan sponsor.
Partner with Benefits Service Manager in vendor performance management, to include potential lead performance management role of certain vendors, RFP process, review and analysis of reports, track and resolve participant and vendor issues.
Manage validation and reconciliation initiatives, including integration of data lists, assessment of data for eligibility, distribution participation lists, and ad hoc reporting.
Maintain and promote excellent relationships within the benefits team and with key stakeholders in other business units.
Provide support in systems related benefits upgrade, testing and projects.

Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time.
Project timelines and work volume / deadlines may often require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job.
Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and to solve problems involving several variables.
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.
Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate necessary equipment.
The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING
Bachelor’s degree Business, statistics, finance, computer science or related field required, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Five years experience in group health plan design and administration required.
Underwriting and actuarial experience required.
Prior experience using Oracle and DayForce.
General knowledge of IT concepts and system integration; ability to translate raw data into meaningful conclusions and recommendations.
CEBS or CBP certification preferred.
Prefer health care background (veterinary or human healthcare, pharmaceutical, etc.).
