The Sr. Compensation Analyst ensures the integrity and documentation of job descriptions, calculates and audits compensation data to ensure programs are administered according to approved plan documents, analyzes trends to determine if plans are performing as intended, analyzes associate pay with internal and external comparisons to ensure competitiveness and legal compliance and maintains the pay plan library. This role partners with other P&O functions on recommendations to support the attraction, retention and motivation of high caliber associates.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
Build and maintain relationships with CTS & FL line managers and P&O co-pilots.
Communicate pay components and how pay works at Banfield.
Provide pay recommendations to line managers for both new and existing associates.
Analyze and monitor trends in CTS & FL compensation, consulting with and educating line managers on practice policies, best practices and recommendations.
Respond to associate and line manager questions, ensuring quality customer service.
Communicate new (and changes to existing) compensation programs to client groups.
Support line managers through implementation of new (and changes to existing) compensation programs.
Ensure integrity of pay data in systems through regular audits.
Maintain expertise with Compensation Workbench, troubleshooting issues, testing functionality, providing support to line managers during annual merit process.
Maintain awareness of federal and state laws pertaining to compensation and their potential impact on the practice’s compensation plans.
Lead compensation projects and represent the Compensation team on cross-functional projects, updating Compensation leadership as appropriate.
Partner with Compensation Program Manager to ensure integrity of job and pay structures through job analysis, evaluation, calibration and documentation, refining forms/tools, as needed.
Maintain Banfield’s job description library.
Analyze compensation structures, plans and programs, to identify trends and gaps, presenting recommendations to Compensation team leadership based on such analysis.
Conduct audits of compensation data to ensure fair pay by gender, age, ethnicity, and recommend corrective actions where needed.
Ensure compliance with FLSA and the integrity of job descriptions across the practice.
Maintain the pay plan library with accurate and current pay plan documents.

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time.
Project timelines and work volume / deadlines may often require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job.
Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.
The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING
Bachelor’s degree human resources, business or similar relevant discipline required, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Minimum six years relevant professional experience in Compensation with progressively increased responsibility required, including experience in job analysis and documentation, base pay administration, variable pay administration, market pricing and analysis, and merit programs.
Strong analytical skills to be able to perform extensive analysis of compensation data.
Knowledge of standard compensation best practices required.
CCP or equivalent compensation certification preferred.
Knowledge and experience with other areas of human resources preferred.
Experience in human or pet healthcare preferred.
