Our Procurement Services - Accounts Payable Department, has an outstanding opportunity for a Compliance Analyst.
Reporting to the Manager of Accounts Payable, the Compliance Analyst ensures that accurate and timely payments are delivered to UW suppliers while meeting all university, state and federal requirements for compliance. The Compliance Analyst will contribute to the Procurement Services Culture of Service, focused on delivering value for others inside and outside the organization and across the University through customer service, operational effectiveness and employee satisfaction.
Job Description: Reporting to the Manager of Accounts Payable, the Compliance Analyst ensures that accurate and timely payments are delivered to UW suppliers while meeting all university, state and federal requirements for compliance.
The Compliance Analyst will contribute to the Procurement Services Culture of Service, focused on delivering value for others inside and outside the organization and across the University through customer service, operational effectiveness and employee satisfaction.
10% Administer payment process for Paymode (ACH) payments.
Serve as systems administrator for online platform.
Review, release and monitor daily payment file. Coordinate with UWIT to troubleshoot when payment files fail.
Research issues with payments and coordinate resolution with UWIT and departments. Generate correcting journal vouchers as needed and review Accounts Payable general ledger accounts to ensure transactions are reversed accurately.
20% ProCard Compliance
Review post-audit of higher risk ProCard transactions and coordinate follow-up with Accounts Payable manager and department.
Review and approve requests for credit card limit increases.
Monitor ProCard training content to ensure information is current and accurate.
10% Review, process and monitor payments for ProCard (monthly) and utility payments (2-3/month)
10% Conduct post audit of higher risk payments to individuals and eReimbursements.
10% Manage check payments
Process Positive Pay and upload check requests from campus and ensure success of uploads. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with uploads. Serve as administrator for checkwriter's folder for manual check uploads.
10% Staledating and Unclaimed Property
Process staledating and report unclaimed property to all states.
10% Review analyze and approve wire payments.
10% Assist Accounts Payable Reconciliation Specialists with complex reconciliation transactions.
Requirements : Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
Minimum 3 years proven successful experience in the accounting or banking fields which demonstrates:
Competency using online tools for daily work and data extraction
Proven analytical and critical thinking skills
Ability to work independently; problem solve, take initiative, set priorities, and work multiple priorities efficiently and effectively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to be flexible and organized
Ability to maintain positive and professional demeanor
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate in a direct, positive manner that engages dialog and resolves differences
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Desired: CPA; Access skills
