We’re searching an outstanding full-time, night shift Medical Laboratory Technologist Lead. The person in this role performs clinical laboratory tests used in the screening, diagnosing, and treating of pathological conditions. Testing includes all facets of pre-transfusion testing using both automated and manual methods, routine and complex antibody identification, component preparation, unit confirmation testing, shipping and receiving units and tissue, and sample processing, information processing, and quality control. The role may also include responding to massive transfusion protocol activations, and delivery of blood products to the bedside.
Additionally, this individual will train students and new employees in the performance of such testing; will be responsible for daily operations in clinical Transfusion Service laboratory; regularly assign, instruct and check the work of others and will lead the professional technical work performed by Medical Laboratory Technologists. In conjunction with the manager, the MLT-Lead will provide direction, training and leadership for staff; develop and evaluate new methodologies and procedures; and write, review and revise technical procedures.

Accredited Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science OR equivalent education/experience, AND Medical Laboratory Science certification with the American Society for Clinical Pathology or equivalent, or certification with a specialty organization appropriate to the laboratory division, AND, three years of professional experience including one year as a Medical Laboratory Scientist 2 or equivalent.
